President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has condoled with the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Oladimeji Bankole and his family on the death of his mother, Alhaja Monsurat Atinuke Bankole.
President Tinubu joined the Bankole family and the Ogun State Government in mourning Iya Adinni of Egbaland who dedicated her life to community development and was guided by her convictions in the Islamic faith.
The President’s condolences were contained in a statement signed on Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga.
Legacy
The President hopes that Mama’s legacy will continue in the countless lives she touched through her compassion, generosity, and humility.
President Tinubu prayed for the peaceful repose of Alhaja Bankole’s soul and for Almighty Allah to comfort all who mourn her demise.
Alhaja Bankole died on Thursday, January 9th, after a brief illness. She was 78 years.
Dimeji Bankole is a Nigerian politician and former Speaker of the House of Representatives. Born on November 14, 1969, in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria, he became the Speaker at 37, making him one of the youngest individuals to hold this position.
Bankole served as Speaker from 2007 to 2011 and was a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). He has remained an influential figure in Nigerian politics.
