Wife of the governor of Anambra State, Mrs Nonye Soludo, has called for deeper retrospection and promotion of peaceful coexistence in the country.
In her New Year message in Awka, the state capital, Nonye Soludo, said the new year offers a fresh chance for everyone to look inwards and ask crucial questions about their relationships with themselves, God and humanity.
She stated that while 2023 presents a clean slate for a new beginning, better focus and smarter planning, events of the past year have taught humanity lessons about oneness, community, love and resilience.
Reminiscing on the recent flood disaster which displaced thousands of people from their homes in Anambra State, the previous security situation in the state and around the country, as well as other challenges of 2022, the governor’s wife expressed satisfaction that humanity was able to win most of those challenges and prayed for a better 2023.
Mrs. Soludo also enjoined every Nigerian to live a healthy and well-planned lifestyle and be cautious of what they consume, as diseases and deaths from poor living habits are still very much prevalent.
She also urged eligible Nigerian women to come out during the forthcoming general elections and cast their votes, reminding them that it is important to make the right choice of who they want in power, as the future of both present and coming generations depends largely on their political choices.
While wishing the people of Anambra and Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, a blessed New Year, Mrs. Soludo prayed for lasting peace in the country and for a hitch-free forthcoming general elections in Nigeria.
