The wife of Anambra State governor, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, has been recognised as the ‘Most Supportive Governor’s Wife’ in South-East Nigeria.

This accolade was awarded after she received the highest number of votes in an open digital ballot conducted by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Anambra State Council.

The voting process included participants from five South Eastern states, allowing voters to express their preferences based on tangible contributions and verifiable achievements of the candidates.

Mrs. Soludo won due to her significant impact in areas such as healthy living, social support, community engagement, and agriculture. Supporters highlighted her efforts through the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative, which has laid a transformative foundation benefiting numerous communities.

The inaugural award, as noted by Dr. Emeka Odogwu, Chairman of the NUJ in Anambra State, aims to celebrate governors’ wives who demonstrate exemplary support and influence, distinct from the official roles of their spouses.
