Mrs Soludo urges parents to inculcate traditional values in children upbringing

Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Mrs Nonye Soludo has asked parents to review their upbringing method by including family values and traditions in raising their children, as a crucial step to instilling a sense of moral standards and keeping them in touch with the basics of culture.

 

Mrs Soludo, who was speaking in Awka, the state capital while addressing a women group, observed that cultural and traditional embodiments play a pivotal factor in how children respond to their environments, pointing out that a child whose development roots are embedded in the right customary path will prioritize hard work over crimes.

 

She reminded mothers of the task before them in the struggle to save the home and society from total collapse.

 

Mrs Soludo explained that mothers must wake up to certain responsibilities, as today’s society is plagued by issues that questions parenting.

 

The governor’s wife asked parents to start by asking crucial questions about their homes, including the whereabouts of their children and wards as well as keeping closer watch on their activities.

 

She stated that parents must also question the source of their children’s sudden wealth and keep close observation on the type of friends they keep and their overall way of life.

 

The Governor’s wife who noted that the homes take a large share of blame in the moral downturn of the present society added that parents must always set exemplary standards for their children and wards, in all aspects of their lives.

 

The governor’s wife further called on relevant stakeholders, including schools, religious and community leaders, among others to prioritize the campaign and pay more attention to issues that have direct consequences on family and society.

 

She reassured that her husband’s administration is committed to policies that will benefit the society and promised to continue to lend her voice to issues concerning Anambra women, children, homes and society.
