Multitudes on Monday converged on Yola for the flag-off of the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) presidential and governorship campaigns in Adamawa state, North-East Nigeria.

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, called on the people of Adamawa state to collectively vote for Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the state’s governorship candidate, Senator Aishatu Binani, at the forthcoming 2023 general election.

The President made the call during the flag-off of the APC’s presidential  and governorship campaign in Yola, the Adamawa state capital.

While presenting the party’s flag to both candidates, indicating his support and that of his party, President Buhari assured the people of the state that the APC would be  committed to good health facilities, standard education at all levels and food security, if voted into power in the 2023 elections.

He urged residents of Adamawa state to return to their constituencies during the elections and vote for creative people who will serve their interest.

Describing Senator Binani as a capable candidate for the state, President Buhari noted that, if voted into power, she would be the first woman governor in Nigeria.

Earlier, Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, at the campaign ground promised the gathering that the APC would engage Nigerians properly, end unemployment, killings and kidnapping in the country, if voted into power in 2023 at both the federal and state levels.

On her part, Senator Binani assured the people that, if she becomes the governor of the state in 2023, payment of pension and gratuity, youth employment, salary and workers’ welfare would be prioritized.

A mammoth crowd turned up for the event to support the APC candidates, thus disrupting movement in the state and normal daily activities.

Many of the supporters at the event told Voice of Nigeria that there had never been any other event in the history of the state that attracted such a crowd.

President Buhari immediately after the event in Yola departed to Yobe state for a similar function.
