Among them are South African stars Musa Keys and Tyla, who earned their first platinum and gold certifications. Tyla secured her spot on the list with her hit single Water, which achieved platinum status. The track gained significant traction in the U.S., with the remix featuring Travis Scott spending several weeks on the Hot 100 and peaking at No. 7, making Tyla the highest-charting solo female African artist.

Tyla’s self-titled debut album has earned an RIAA Gold certification, along with the single Truth or Dare from the album, which also received Gold status.

The year 2024 has been a milestone for Tyla, as she dominated the award season, sweeping the Afrobeats categories at the VMAs, BET Awards, and Billboard Music Awards. She also made history by becoming the first-ever recipient of the Grammys’ African Song Performance award.

Similarly, Musa Keys achieved his first RIAA certification in 2024 for his contribution to Davido’s hit single Unavailable, which was awarded an RIAA Gold plaque.

The South African stars joined a distinguished list of artists, including Nigerian-American country music sensation Shaboozey, whose hit single A Bar Song (Tipsy) became the best-selling song of 2024 and set a Billboard Hot 100 record as the longest-running No. 1 song in history.

The duo proudly represented the continent alongside 65 other inductees, including 67th Grammy Best New Artist nominee Chappell Roan, Sexyy Red, YG Marley, and Karol G.
