Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence startup xAI on Thursday announced the upcoming launch of an improved version of its chatbot, Grok, named Grok-1.5.

The new version will be made available to early testers and existing Grok users on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, in the coming days, xAI said in a statement.

The startup claims that the latest version boasts significant enhancements, particularly in its ability to handle coding and mathematical tasks effectively.

Musk introduced xAI as an alternative to Microsoft-backed OpenAI and Google’s Alphabet, aiming to develop an AI focused on maximum truth-seeking capabilities.

In December, the company launched Grok exclusively for Premium+ subscribers of X.

Musk recently announced plans to make Grok open-source through xAI, shortly after filing a lawsuit against OpenAI, accusing them of deviating from their original mission in favour of a for-profit model.
