Muslims felicitate with Christians as Lenten season begins

As Christians around the world commences 40 days fasting and prayers (Ash Wednesday), Nigerian Muslims clerics and groups have felicitated with their Christian brethren.

Muslim cleric, Abdulrahman Bichi said, Lenten season is an Important occasion to all Christians all over the world, as he appealed to Christians to offer special prayers toward healing the world against the increase crisis, war, banditry, Among others.

Abdullarahman made the appeal when he led members on a friendship solidarity visit to Pastor Yohanna Buru, General Overseer of Christ Evangelical Intercessory Fellowship Ministry in Kaduna.

According to him, The Lenten period is a Holy season to all Christians, and Muslims, who also fast during Ramadan, understand the significance of fasting and prayers to the Almighty God Hence the need for us to strengthen them.

We came as a team to felicitate and wish all Christians success from the beginning of the holy month till the end of the Lenten season, because Pastor Yohanna Buru usually visit Sheik Dahiru Bauchi, Sheik Ibrahim Elzazzaky,the sultan of Sokoto Alhaji sa’ad Abubakar and other Muslims scholars to break Ramadan fast with them.

He said the visit was also to encourage peaceful coexistence, religious tolerance and also strengthens the relationship between Muslims and Christians.

Responding, pastor Yohanna Buru applauded the effort of visitors from Kano, Zamfara and Katsina as he said it would boost efforts toward promoting peace and religious tolerance in the country.

“The world truly require special prayers and fasting that can heal it against all the crisis ,war troubling the planet.

He said all religious leaders must offer special prayers for Nigerian military men and women toward the success of all their peace mission across the universe.
