The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has strengthened its international engagement and outlined strategic pathways for Nigeria’s economic growth.
This was revealed during its 1st Quarter Council Meeting and Annual General Meeting held in Kano, North West Nigeria.
Speaking at the meeting, the National President of NACCIMA, Jani Ibrahim, highlighted key global partnerships secured following Nigeria’s recent diplomatic engagements with Turkey and the United Kingdom.
He revealed that NACCIMA led a private sector delegation to Istanbul after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s state visit to Turkey, resulting in the signing of two major Memoranda of Understanding.

“In furtherance of its global outreach, NACCIMA also organized a Nigeria-UK Business Forum in London during the President’s visit in March 2026, attracting key stakeholders and strengthening bilateral trade relations.”
Despite these achievements, Ibrahim noted that Nigeria’s business environment remains challenging, citing ongoing economic reforms, inflationary pressures, evolving financial regulations, and global uncertainties.

He urged businesses to adopt data-driven and forward-looking strategies to remain competitive.
He, however, emphasized that opportunities such as the African Continental Free Trade Area, digital economy, global Halal market, and green investments present viable avenues for growth if properly harnessed.
“The association also unveiled several initiatives, including engagement with Germany’s ODDO-BHF to facilitate affordable financing for members, the rollout of NACCIMA Global and Foundation programmes, and a new committee to address the challenge of out-of-school children, particularly in Northern Nigeria.
“Additionally, plans are underway for ISO 9001:2015 certification to enhance institutional standards and digital transformation, while preparations are ongoing for the Infrastructure Conference (INFRACON 2026) scheduled for July.”

The Governor also disclosed plans to boost energy supply through significant investments aimed at achieving power independence, recognizing energy as a critical driver of commerce and industrial growth.
In his remarks, the President of the Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, Usman Darma, underscored Kano’s historical significance as a commercial hub.
Darma called for stronger inclusion of KACCIMA in national decision-making processes and greater collaboration between government and the organized private sector.
