NACETEM to host Certiport international certification exams
The National Centre for Technology Management (NACETEM) has received official authorization to serve as a testing centre for Certiport’s prestigious certifications in Nigeria.
Dr. Tunde Babalola, Head of NACETEM’s Communications Team, revealed that the authorization certificate was handed over to the organization in Abuja. The certificate carries the signature of Robert Whelan, President/CEO of Pearson VUE, the organization behind Certiport.
Established in 1997 as a Pearson VUE business, Certiport has evolved into the premier provider of certification exam development, delivery, and program management services. With a widespread network encompassing over 15,000 Authorized Testing Centers worldwide, it continues to stand at the forefront of the industry.
‘’This is, hopefully, the beginning of a new dawn for NACETEM. Many private organisations are demanding recognised Information Technology certifications from their workers, and digital literacy is now recognised as a promotion requirement for public sector employees.
“Tertiary education students and corp members will need this; creatives, Millenials and post-Millenials need this,” Babalola said.

He stated that it is time for NACETEM to seize the opportunity and actively contribute to providing widespread digital literacy to the vast population of Nigerians.
Babalola pointed out that NACETEM is the second organization, following the National Board of Technical Education (NBTE), to receive authorization from Pearson VUE. Notably, they have distinct levels of certification.
NACETEM, an agency under the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, is tasked with training and cultivating middle-to-high level manpower. Additionally, it holds the mandate to conduct policy research in science, technology, and innovation management for both government tiers and the private sector.
