The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its precision counterterrorism operations across the North-West and North-East, launching a series of intelligence-led air interdictions that destroyed several terrorist hideouts and neutralised scores of insurgents.
The Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Vice Marshal Ehimen Ejodame, said in a statement that the latest operations were conducted under Operation Fansan Yamma (OPFY) Sector 2 in Katsina State.

According to him, the first strike—executed around 6:30 a.m.—targeted a heavily fortified base belonging to a notorious terrorist kingpin linked to widespread kidnappings, deadly attacks, and cattle rustling across the Kankara, Faskari, and Malumfashi Local Government Areas.
“Using real-time Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), the aircraft struck the camp with precision-guided munitions. Persistent ISR coverage also enabled follow-up engagements as surviving fighters attempted to escape,” the statement read.
A second coordinated strike around 5:55 p.m. hit another major terrorist enclave in Danfako, Faskari LGA, destroying structures, logistics hubs, equipment, and operational facilities. Several terrorists were neutralised, further degrading the group’s operational capacity and denying them safe havens in the region.

“In Borno State, NAF air power again proved decisive as ground troops of the 28 Task Force Brigade, Sector 4 OPERATION HADIN KAI (OPHK) repelled a coordinated multi-front ISWAP/Boko Haram attack on Chibok,” he said
NAF aircraft executed four major precision strikes—guided by intelligence from ground forces—on regrouping insurgents along their escape routes, inflicting heavy casualties.
Additional follow-up strikes on retreating fighters further disrupted their movement and crippled their ability to reorganise.

The coordinated air–ground offensive ensured the insurgents suffered significant losses while safeguarding the Chibok community and preventing a possible escalation.
Ejodame reaffirmed the NAF’s commitment to “precise, surgical engagements aimed at neutralising threats, restoring security, and protecting the lives and property of Nigerians.”
He added that “the force will continue its close collaboration with ground troops and other security agencies to ensure lasting peace across the country.”
