The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has conducted special intercessory prayers at the sacred plains of Arafat in Makkah, calling on divine intervention for peace, unity, and progress in Nigeria.
The prayers, led by NAHCON Chairman/CEO Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, were held during the pivotal Arafat rites, an integral part of the Hajj pilgrimage when millions of Muslims around the world gather in devotion and supplication.
Speaking during the solemn occasion, Professor Usman urged Nigerian women to play a vital role in national healing by praying earnestly for the country’s leaders and refraining from negative speech. He noted that women and children often bear the brunt of instability and conflict, making their role in seeking peace through prayer even more crucial.
The NAHCON chairman also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering support for the commission and commended Nigerian pilgrims for their exemplary conduct throughout the Hajj rituals.
The event underscored NAHCON’s commitment to not only facilitating religious pilgrimage but also fostering national unity through spiritual engagement.
