NALDA To Establish Integrated Farm Estate, Vegetable Market In Gombe.

The National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA)has disclosed plans to establish its Integrated Farm Estate for youth empowerment and a Vegetable Market aimed at reducing post harvest losses in Gombe state North East Nigeria.
The Executive Secretary of NALDA Prince Paul Ikonne made the disclosure at the ‘Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Dry Season Wheat Production’ in Dogon Ruwa community of Kaltungo Local Government Area of the state.
While explaining the features of the market, Ikonne said NALDA will provide a market called ‘NALDA’s Market for Vegetable’ with state of the art facilities for farmers to prevent post-harvest losses following the perishable nature of vegetables.
“Having provided us with the enabling environment in the State, NALDA will be providing farmers with what we call ‘NALDA’s Market’ for vegetable, which you have provided us with a land that project will be completed before the end of February 2022″
“NALDA will also site the first Integrated Farm Estate in Gombe State based on your disposition.
“We enjoin you to also make yourself available as we lay the foundation by the end of this month” He added
Ikonne commended the Gombe State Governor Muhammed Inuwa Yahaya for his commitment towards achieving President Muhammadu Buhari’s vision of achieving food security, engaging our youths and reducing unemployment.
It would be recalled that NALDA’s first Integrated Farm Estate was commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari on July 19th 2021 in Katsina state, and in September the President of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Ahmed Lawan commissioned the NALDA Integrated Farm Estate the second of its kind in the country in Yobe state North East Nigeria.
NALDA’s Integrated Farm Estate is also being developed in other states like Ogun, Imo, Ekiti, Kwara and more states are expected to key-in in the nearest future.
