Amina Mohammed, Lafia.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State says it is committed to establishing formidable structures aimed at providing sustainable governance to the citizenry.
Chairman of the APC in the state, Aliyu Bello, stated this while playing host to the leadership of the State Chapter of Nigerian Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) in Lafia, the state capital.
The leadership of the Nigerian Association of Women Journalists, Nasarawa State Chapter, was at the APC Secretariat to consolidate the long-standing working relationship between the political class and the media.
Speaking, the state chairperson of NAWOJ, Comrade Hadiza Umar, said that the people look up to leaders for good governance, hence the need for the APC-led administration in the state to continue on the path of delivering essential services to all parts of the state, regardless of affiliations.
She, however, congratulated the party chairman on his recent emergence as the state APC chairman, attributing to his sacrifice and a people-oriented disposition.
Responding, the APC chairman, Alhaji Aliyu Bello, who described women as the backbone of the society, promised continual support to women journalists to enable them to discharge their duties optimally, focusing on the policies and programmes of the APC-led government in the state.
Alhaji Bello commended the women for identifying with the party while calling on women journalists to ensure they work tirelessly in contributing their quota in building the state and the country at large.
