Nasarawa Assembly advocates more welfare for Women, orphans, others

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly is advocating more welfare for women, orphans, and other vulnerable groups in the state in the 2022 budget.

Chairman, House Committee on Women Affairs, Hon. Samuel Tsebe made the advocacy at the commencement of the 2022 budget defense of the State Ministry for Women Affairs at the Assembly Complex in Lafia, the state capital.

He said that this will improve their general welfare for the betterment of society. Hon. Tsebe, emphasised the need for women, orphans, and other vulnerable groups in the society to be carried along to give them an absolute sense of belonging, hence the need for government to do more in improving their welfare.

He noted that the House is committed to supporting and enhancing the general welfare of those under the ministry and also to improving the ministry’s general performance.

The committee and management team of the ministry discussed general areas of concern in the ministry’s 2022 budget.

The Permanent Secretary of the ministry Hauwa Ogah, defended the ministry’s 2022 budget before the committee thanked the House for its support so far and called for its sustenance.
