Nasarawa Assembly assures education board of support

The Chairman Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Education, Science and Technology, Daniel Ogazi says they will support the State Universal Basic Education Board,  SUBEB in order to boost primary education.

Ogazi said this was due to the importance of primary education to societal development.

The Committee Chairman gave the assurance when the management of SUBEB appeared before the committee to defend its 2021 budget proposal at the Assembly Complex in Lafia.

Daniel Ogazi said that primary education was the foundation of education, hence the need for the committee to support the activities of the board for improved standard of education in the state.

We will continue to give our support for the development of primary education as it is the foundation of every education.

“When we prioritised primary education, we will not have much problem in other levels of education as it is the basic of education.

“As education is the bed rock of every society and no society would achieve meaningful progress without sound education,” he said.

He commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for prioritising the education sector and called for its sustenance.

The chairman urged the management of the board to continue to be up and doing in ensuring that the right things are done for the overall development of the education sector and the state at large.

Speaking, the Executive Chairman SUBEB Mohammed Dan’azumi while defending the 2021 budget proposal  of the board appreciated  the committee for given the education sector the topmost priority its deserves.

Provision of Materials
He, however, appealed to the committee to look into the issue of the provisions of instructional materials, staff development among others in the budget.

Meanwhile, the management of the state Teachers Service Commission, TSC led by its Chairman, Abdullahi Abu Galadima defended the 2021 budget proposal of the commission.

The management of the state scholarship Board led by its Executive Secretary, Mr Danlami Okpobose also defended its board’s  2021 budget  proposal before the committee.

Furthermore, the management of the state Vocational and Relevant Technology Board led by its General Manager, Idris Umar Idris defended the board’s 2021budget proposal where he appreciated the committee for supporting its activities.
