Nasarawa Assembly calls for proper utilization of funds

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has urged chairmen of 13 local government areas in the state to ensure that they do quality work on the ongoing renovation of their offices approved by Governor Abdullahi Sule.

This, the assembly said, was for them to leave a lasting legacy and for the overall development of their council areas.

The Chairman of the House Committee on LG, Ibrahim Alkali, gave the task while inspecting the ongoing overhauling and renovation of Kokona Local Government Council by its Chairman, Auwalu Adamu.

Ibrahim Alkali, who is the Deputy Chief Whip of the House expressed happiness and satisfaction with the level of ongoing work in the Kokona LG secretariat.

He hailed the Chairman for doing a wonderful job calling on other chairmen to emulate what is happening in Kokona LG revealing that the committee will soon embark on a tour of LGAs in the State to inspect the renovation works.

Hon Alkali who was accompanied by a member of the committee Hon. Daniel Ogazi commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for releasing funds for the renovation of Chairmen offices across the state.

As this will create an enabling environment for effective service delivery,” he said.

“I want to call on other chairmen to emulate the Kokona local government chairman by ensuring that they embark on quality jobs” 

“I want to appreciate Gov. Abdullahi Sule for releasing funds to the local government chairmen to renovate and furnish their offices for optimal productivity” 

” The committee would tour 13 local government areas to ensure that quality jobs are delivered by the council chairmen” 

” We will embark on inspection of projects to the 13 local government areas to ensure that the right thing is done by the council chairmen,” he added.

The LG committee chairman pastured on effective collaboration with the government to ensure grassroots development.
