Nasarawa Assembly directs SSA to uphold professionalism

Nasarawa State House of Assembly has expressed its disappointment on the person holding the office of  Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the state.
The House has equally directed him to sit up or immediately tender his resignation letter to Governor Abdullahi Sule stressing that the house will not take it kindly if he doesn’t live up to the expectations of his office.
Chairman, House Committee on Planning, Budget, and SDGs, Honourable Mohammed Muluku gave the directive when the SSA on SSDGs appeared before the committee on its 2021 budget assessment in Lafia.
Honourable Maluku, who frowned at the poor performance of the SDGs office said that if something was not done urgently to reposition the agency, its goals would be defeated.
He emphasised that during the last administration in the state, SDGs was one of the most outstanding life touching agencies that have impacted positively on the lives of rural dwellers in the state and wondered why the set back at this material time when Gov Sule is working around the clock to change the future of the people of the state.
“I am highly disappointed with the performance of SDGs, I am wondering what is the problem that SDGs of all agencies will perform just 10% of its total budget  and this all bounce back to the head of the agency,” he said
The chairman while rating the SDGs office as the worst-performing government agency in the state has assured of the committee’s readiness to collaborate with the government for effective service delivery.
Speaking, the SSA on SDG’s, Murtala Muhammad analyzed the budget performance between January to August 21 which stands at 10%, attributing it to lack of release from the planning and budget office.
