Nasarawa Assembly member-elect promises inclusive representation
The member-elect for Lafia Central Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Mr Solomon Akwashiki says he would serve all his constituents irrespective of affiliations.
He said this was to give every member of the constituency a sense of belonging and to improve on their standard of living.
Akwashiki made the pledge while playing host to Akassa community in Akurba/ Bakirijiya electoral ward of the constituency on Wednesday in Lafia.
The member- elect, who was overwhelmed by the visit, gave assurances of youth and women empowerment, when he assumes office in June.
He appreciated the community and other electorate for their support and votes during the governorship and state assembly election.
“I will use this mandate to improve on your lives by giving priority to youth and women empowerment. By God’s grace, I will not disappoint the people of Lafia Central Constituency.
” I will be a representative for all, irrespective of affiliations. This is to give my people of Lafia Central constituency a sense of belonging and improve on their standard of living,” he said.
Akwashiki solicited for the support of all and sundry to enable him to succeed, and urged his constituents continue to live in peace for development to thrive.
Also speaking, Mr Daniel Anyuabaga, former President, Eggon Youth Movement ( EYM) worldwide, commended the electorate for their peaceful conduct throughout the election period.
Anyuabaga, urged the member-elect to live above board while discharging his legislative duties.
He assured Akwashiki of the community’s support at all times.
Earlier, Mr Moses Ewuga, the Village Head of Akassa community, said that the visit was in solidarity and to rejoice with lawmaker on his election.
Ewuga urged the member-elect to focus on capital development and other projects that would have direct bearing on the lives of the people of the constituency.
He also prayed for the member- elect to succeed in his legislative duties.
