Nasarawa begins Qur’anic Recitation Competition to foster peace, Unity

The 28th Qur’an Recitation Competition has commenced in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area of Nasarawa state.
The Emir of Lafia and Chairman of Nasarawa State Council of Traditional Rulers, HRH Justice Sidi Bage, said the competition aims to foster unity and peaceful coexistence amongst Muslims and non-Muslims by inculcating in the people, true and practical teachings of the Quran.
The royal father added that the exercise will mobilize Muslim youths to learn proper recitation and memorization of the holy Quran.
Justice Bage, who urged the participants to strive for excellence while maintaining humility and gratitude assured them that the state will deliver a memorable competition that showcases the importance and beauty of Qu’ran recitation.
The Chief host and Aren Eggon, HRH Justice Ahmed Ubangari, said the competition would bring together 260 participants from all the 13 Local Government Areas of Nasarawa State to celebrate the beauty, knowledge, and wisdom of the Glorious Qur’an.
Declaring the competition open, the chairman of the Musabaqa (competition) Committee in Nasarawa State, the Oriye Rindire Wamba, HRH. Justice Lawal Musa Nagogo said the state Qur’anic Recitation Competition is an annual competition that offers participants a unique opportunity to refine their recitation skills and depend on their understanding of the Qur’anic science, theoretically and practically.
This year’s activity is expected to last for 7 days and close on the 30th of November 2024.
