Nasarawa: Education Board distributes Sports Equipment to 54 Schools

Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB) has distributed sporting facilities and items to 54 basic schools

 

This was in conjunction with the Universal Basic Education Commission( UBEC) for the distribution of sporting facilities and items for UBE schools utilizing the 2020/2021 Matching Grant at the Board.

 

Speaking during the distribution ceremony, the Executive Chairman, of Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, Hon. Muhammad Dan’azimi, said sports Development in Primary Schools is vital in harnessing talents in learners.

 

Represented by the Director, of Academic Services, Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. James Aguma, charged all Education Secretaries to make sure the equipment gets to the selected schools and is also judiciously used for the purpose for which they are meant to serve.

 

He urged the benefitting schools to use the items properly adding that the distribution is a continuous exercise that will ensure all schools are equipped subsequently.

 

Responding on behalf of the Education Secretaries, Keana Local Government Education Authority, Mal. Muhammad Sule, lauded the Universal Basic Education Commission( UBEC), Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, and the resolve of the Nasarawa State Government to revive primary school sports and pledged to take proper care of the items.

 

The items distributed include; Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Handball, Badminton, Discuss disc, and Shot put to mention but a few.
