Nasarawa Government Commences Harvest of 10,000 Hectres Rice Farm

The Nasarawa State Government has commence the harvest of its ten thousand hectares of rice farm towards ensuring food security.
Governor Abdullahi Sule stated this when he monitored the harvest at the Rice farm in Jangwa community of Azara development area of Awe LGA.
According to the governor, the APC led administration of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu is committed in providing food sufficiency in the country.
“We have identified 10,000 Hecters, planted 2,000 Hecters, six months ago with a good variety that matured in less than six months, making two harvest in a year”.
 
The governor said they have awarded contract for the construction of asphalt road from Ribi community to Jangwa community where the farm is located for easy transportation of goods.
Sule further appreciate the people of Jangwa for their maximum cooperation and support for the project.
In an interview, community leader in Ayarkeke, Jangwa, Mr. Justin Shaku, appreciated the government for siting  the farm in the area, as most of their youths have been employed to work in the farm.
He further assured the state government for their cooperation and to safeguard the farm inputs.
Also,  a youth leader in the Jangwa, Yusuf Hussain, appreciated the government for the initiative of establishing a farm in the community.
Lastly ,he solicited for more development as more potentials are available in the community.
