Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has dismissed any concerns about the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing it as a splinter group from another political party and “only getting weaker.”

Speaking to journalists at the All Progressives Congress, APC, National Secretariat in Abuja, the nation’s capital after visiting the party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, Governor Sule said the APC is not worried about opposition parties, stressing that its priority is strengthening its own structures and fulfilling promises to Nigerians.

“We have never been worried about opposition. We are always concerned about our strength and what we need to do to give back to the good people of Nigeria,” he said.

The governor praised President Bola Tinubu for leading by example, noting that all APC governors are focused on delivering tangible results in their states to support the administration’s agenda.

“Personally, I don’t pay attention to what other parties are doing. I am more concerned about what my party is doing,” he added.

The Governor also noted that the State’s relative peace over the past few years has boosted agricultural productivity, aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda on food security.

Governor Sule said Nasarawa had cultivated 2,000 hectares of rice last year and added another 1,300 hectares this year out of the 10,000 hectares acquired for farming.

“The Minister of Agriculture came to see for himself what we are doing. He appreciated our seriousness in supporting the President’s agenda,” Governor Sule stated.

On the party’s new chairman, the governor described Yilwatda as a reform-minded leader whose emergence fulfilled North Central’s demand for the position.

He praised his warm reception across the region and said his leadership would further strengthen the APC nationwide.

“Well, the new chairman actually is another renewed hope agenda chairman, you know, the new chairman is coming at a time that somebody like him is needed, we, the people of North Central, that have been agitating for the return of the chairmanship to our zone, we have no complain now, he is in our zone,” he emphasised.
