Nasarawa: Lawmaker distributes JAMB registration forms to 300 Students

A Member Representing Lafia Central Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dahiru Angibi, has distributed 300 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms to 300 students of his constituency.

Angibi, who is the Chairman of the House Committee on Public Account made this known while distributing the forms to beneficiaries cutting across seven electoral wards of his constituency today in Lafia.

He said that the gesture was to reduce the burden of JAMB registration on parents of the benefiting students.

 

I have done this last two years, I have equally done it last year, and today by God’s grace, it is going to be a continuous exercise as part of my commitment to contribute my quota positively to the education development of my constituency.

“The gesture is also to improve on the standard of education in my constituency and the state at large.

“And to complement His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s efforts in the education sector in the state.

As this gesture cut across the seven electoral wards of my constituency namely  Akurba, Agyaragu/ Tofa, Ciroma, Gayam, Makama, Wakwa and Zanwa.

“I have asked all public secondary schools in my constituency to submit the names of two best SS three students so that they will benefit and as you can see, schools principals are here to collect their forms.

“Lafia Students Association, Nasarawa State Students Association (NASSA), disabilities among other groups are benefitting,

“As the importance of education to human and societal development could not be overemphasized,” he said.

Angibi (APC Lafia Central) has urged the students to study hard and embrace Information and Communications Technology in order to come out with flying colours in the JAMB Examination.

He has restated his continued commitment to initiate good policies and programmes that would have direct bearing on the lives of the people of his constituency.

The lawmaker further called on the people of his constituency and the state at large to support Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration to succeed beyond 2023.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr Umar Muazu, and Personal Assistant (PA) to Gov. Sule on Disabilities and Egga Lucky Obele, Councilor representing Akurba Ward, appreciated the Lawmaker for the gesture and prayed God to bless him abundantly.

The duo said that the gesture would not only reduce the burden of JAMB registration on parents but would also improve the standard of education in the constituency.

They have assured Angibi and Governor Sule of their support beyond 2023.

The event had in attendance Salihu Angulu, former member representing Lafia constituency at the then Plateau State House of Assembly, councillors of the 7 electoral wards of Lafia Central, other politicians, principals of secondary schools from the constituency, stakeholders and youths among others.
