The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) Resident Electoral Commissioner of Nasarawa State, Uthman Ajidagba, has assured Nigerians that no voter would be disenfranchised in Nasarawa state, North central geopolitical zone.
He stated this while speaking to Voice of Nigeria in Keffi while on a tour of the three Senatorial Districts in the state.
Mr Ajidagba explained that some voters cannot see their names on the Voter register in their polling units because the electoral commission had expanded the polling units by creating new units to reduce overpopulation at a particular point.
He added that Nigerians were informed of the expansion but did not take heed to check their names before time.
“There’s no amount of publicity you mount especially in Nigeria, some people will still not take to correction. It is possible that they’ve not been following our instructions but by and large, nobody will be disenfranchised,“ Ajidagba said.
Speaking on the late start of the process in Keffi, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner said it was a result of human error which they have resolved.
