The Nasarawa State Government has announced plans to hold a mega solidarity rally in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Abdullahi Sule.

Addressing journalists at a press conference in Lafia, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr Labaran Magaji, said the rally would provide an opportunity for residents to express appreciation for the leadership and developmental strides of President Tinubu and his deputy, Vice President Kashim Shettima, as well as Governor Sule.

Magaji explained that the decision to engage the media was informed by the vital role journalists play in shaping public perception and communicating government policies and programmes to the people.

According to him, the rally follows extensive consultations with key stakeholders and a review of the President Tinubu administration’s performance, particularly in the areas of economic reforms, fuel subsidy removal, student loan initiatives, social intervention programmes, and infrastructure development across various sectors.

He noted that Governor Sule’s administration remains aligned with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, implementing reforms and projects aimed at improving the lives of residents in the state.

The SSG stated that since not all citizens can access the Presidential Villa or the Government House to convey their appreciation, stakeholders resolved to organise a solidarity rally at the Lafia City Square, where residents from across the state are expected to converge in a collective show of support.

The event will also feature the inauguration of newly appointed Local Government Coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, following consultations with stakeholders across Nasarawa State.

In what he described as a significant political development, Magaji disclosed that several serving and former lawmakers at both the National Assembly and the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, along with other prominent figures, are set to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). They are expected to be formally received at the rally.

He added that the National Chairman of the APC has been invited and is expected to officially welcome the defectors into the party.

Highlighting the state government’s achievements, the SSG commended Governor Sule for initiating new projects even as his administration approaches its final phase, describing the move as a demonstration of prudent and committed leadership.

Magaji urged citizens to use the rally as an opportunity to encourage both President Tinubu and Governor Sule to sustain their reform-driven governance for the overall development of Nasarawa State and the country at large.
