Nasarawa Police Apprehends 2 persons for Alleged Defilement

Nasarawa State Police Command has apprehended two suspects, Yusuf Mamuda and Inusa Mohammed for alleged defilement of minors.

Parading the suspects at the Police Headquarters in Lafia, the state capital, the commissioner of Police, CP Shettima Mohammed Jauro, said the command is committed to ensuring that the state is completely rid of criminal elements.

CP Mohammed Jauro also paraded forty-one suspected criminals disturbing the 13 Local Government Areas of the state.

“On the 27th January 2025, at about 0900hrs, a complaint was lodged by one Malam Usman Mohammed of Lafia that his seven years old daughter was raped by one Yusuf Mamuda of Almakura street, behind burial ground, Lafia.

“Upon receipt of the report, the suspects was trailed and arrested; and he confessed to the crime, investigation is ongoing.”

He explained that Yusuf Mamuda of Almakura street in Lafia local government area of the state defiled a seven year old girl.

In an interview, the suspect agreed to have committed the crime, “this is the third time I’m committing such crime of rape, I am also the one that rape the seven year old girl, I know is the work of the devil,” the suspects said.

Similarly another suspect, Inusa Mohammed of Angwan Giya in Gudi, Akwanga Local Government Area was arrested for forcefully having canal knowledge of a fifteen years old girl.

Also “On the 19th January 2025, based on credible information, police operative intercepted Hanuna Abdullahi 33 from Mararaba junction, Karu LGA. A search of his vehicle led to the discovery of five bags of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp,” the commissioner noted.

The Commissioner further assured the public of continues peace and security of the citizens.
