Nasarawa Post Graduate School rated highest in northern Nigeria – Dr Kente

The Post Graduate School of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, has been rated as the highest in academic excellence, in northern Nigeria.

The Head of Department of Mass Communication, Dr. Josiah Kente, made the announcement at the Book Presentation by the Students of Development Communication department of the University.

He said that the feat was achieved through the unrelenting support the Post Graduate School gets from the school management.

The HOD also commended the students for the initiative.

Dr. Kente also promised the students that the books will be properly utilised by the school for the purpose of academic excellence.

He noted that books are good sources of information and encouraged the students to always reference the books in their course works.

The HOD, however, assured the students that the school will continue to make sure that it follows the academic calendar without delay.

Also commenting on the book presentation, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, Prof. Anthony Igyuve urged the students to imbibe the culture of reading.

He added that Nigerians are known to shy away from reading and encouraged the students to change the narrative.

Similarly, Dr. Muhammad Rabiu and Dr. Tsegyu Santas commended the Development Communication students for enriching the school library.

The representative of the school Librarian, Mr. Yahaya Adamu Adamu, said that the books will go a long way in improving the quality of students produced by the school.

The book presentation is part of the students’ Corporate Social Responsibility for the Masters of Science Students Postgraduate Programme.

Books on the different sequences of Mass Communication were presented to the school by the students.
