The Nasarawa Southern Senatorial Candidate under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Senator Tanko Al-Makura has inaugurated over 200 people as campaign council for his second term bid.
Al-makura while inaugurating the campaign council assured residents of his continuous quality and purposeful leadership at the National Assembly if re-elected.
He said members of the campaign council were over 200 in number, boasted that he had done well as a senator in the zone, and solicited their support and votes to enable him to succeed in 2023.
“There is no local government and development area that I did not touch physically or infrastructural. I will do more if given another chance in 2023,” he said.
He, however, drummed support for the APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Abdullahi Sule, and all APC candidates in the 2023 general election.
Meanwhile, the Director General of the Al-Makura Campaign Organization who spoke on behalf of the others, Mr. Edward Auta, expressed gratitude to the senator for the confidence reposed in them and promised to work assiduously towards ensuring victory for him in the 2023 senatorial election.
Speaking, Nasarawa State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Yusuf Iya, has drummed support for the former governor of the state and senator representing the Southern Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Tanko Al-Makura ahead of the 2023 general election.
Iya also declared his support for all candidates of the All Progressives Congress in the coming elections and promised to mobilize the over 50,000 Nasarawa workers to vote for the APC in 2023.
He explained that his decision to support the former governor who is seeking a second term in the Senate and the party was because of the incumbent governor, Abdullahi Sule’s efforts in addressing the plight of workers in the state since his assumption of office in 2019.
“Every civil servant is allowed to be part of the Labour party, and by the nature in which the party was registered, I am supposed to be the Vice Chairman of the LP in Nasarawa state but I have chosen to be a member of the APC, that is why I am here and I stand boldly to support this administration.
“We have found good governance in the APC from the national to the state level. We will mobilize workers. We have over 22,000 workers at the state level and 30,000 workers at the Local Government level,” the State NLC chairman noted.
