As Christians set to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ otherwise known as Christmas across the globe, Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau has emphasized the need for sober reflection through love, care, support, donations and gifts to the less privileged in the society.
Speaker Jatau stated this on Sunday shortly after he attended a church service in Garaku, Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
He spoke extensively on the significance of the celebration and called on believers to celebrate peacefully, respect constituted authorities, be law-abiding and share the joy of the period with both Christians and non-Christians.
At the Church service, a Christian Cleric, Rev. Bitrus Kaya, urged Christians and other Nigerians to use the Christmas period to pray for the nation’s peace, unity, and security.
Kaya, who is the Reverend in charge of ECWA Goodnews, Garaku, Kokona LGA made the call while presiding over the Church Sunday Mass today.
He said that prayers were key to success, hence the need for his call in that direction.
The religious leader while quoting different verses of the holy bible urged Christians and other Nigerians to live good lives by shunning sinful acts to inherit the kingdom of God.
He said that when people do the right things at all times, it would promote peace and bring speedy development to the country.
Speaking at the Church Service, Danladi Jatau called on Christians to use the Christmas season to promote love, peace, and unity.
He added that peace was a requirement for the development of any society.
