Nasarawa Speaker Distributes Christmas Gifts to Widows, Vulnerable

The Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon Danladi Jatau, has distributed 400 bags of rice, 300 bundles of wrappers and cash gifts to widows and the vulnerable in his constituency in the spirit of Christmas.

The Speaker said the gesture was a token of appreciation to his constituents for returning him to the chamber of the State House of Assembly for the third time.

The Speaker made the distribution today in Garaku, Kokona LGA.

He said that the gesture was to improve the standard of living of the people of his constituency.

This distribution is to appreciate my constituents in the spirit of the yuletide.

“Today I am distributing 400 bags of 10kg rice, 300 bundles of wrappers, and N1.5 million to put smiles on the faces of the widows and other vulnerable people. Without them, I wouldn’t have been elected Speaker, hence the need to return home to appreciate them” he said.

The Speaker used the medium to preach peace, calling on the people of Nasarawa State to de-emphasize issues that will fuel tribal and religious sentiments capable of undermining peace and development.

He said that no society would achieve speedy development in an atmosphere of turmoil and rancour.

He assured of an open-door policy and an all-inclusive leadership.

The Speaker called on the people of the state to continue to give Gov. Sule their maximum support to succeed.

The Speaker also called on members of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) to have faith in the party and work hard to woo other people to the APC train ahead of future elections.

Stakeholders and beneficiaries at the event commended the Speaker for returning home to identify with his constituents and prayed to God to bless his political ambitions.
