Nasarawa Speaker Urges Citizen to Embrace Agriculture for Food Security

Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, has urged citizens to embrace food security and commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for distributing fertilizers and other farming inputs to farmers in the state.
The Speaker made the call while receiving a tractor from Hon Peter Akwe, Chairman, House Committee on Agriculture which was donated to the House by the state government today in Lafia.
Jatau said that the distribution of tractors to farmers across the state would boost food security.
“ I want to commend His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his passion in almost all sectors of the economy
” The distribution of the tractors to farmers will ensure food security and sufficiency in the state,” he said
Embrace agriculture
The Speaker called on the people of the state to embrace agriculture considering its importance to human and societal development.
” I want to call on the people of the state to embrace agriculture in their interest and for the overall development of the state,” he noted
He re-iterated the commitment of the State lawmakers to support his agricultural initiative revealing that already the legislators are engaging in modern agriculture.
The Speaker also called on the famers and other people of the state to support Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s administration to succeed
