Nasarawa State Education Board warns against Violation of Contract

The Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board in North-Central Nigeria has warned contractors and gave them one week from Monday 29, August 2022 to report to sites or considered the contract forfeited.

The warning was to contractors recently awarded contracts for UBE 2020 and 2021 intervention.

In a statement, issued to journalists in Lafia, the state capital, through the Public Relations Officer, UBE, Gana Ahmed, the Director, Physical Planning, Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, Engr. Muhammad Shuaibu Lakpa said the Board would not hesitate to revoke the contract, especially contract was found wanting in the area of quality and respect for the specie fixed contract period.

According to him, the board can no longer condone situations where contractors execute projects at their discretion.

“Affected contractors should take note, as the government will not compromise stands on this issue,” he said.

He further said that the present administration was determined to improve the standard of education which was considered a great tool for fighting poverty in society.

Lakpa urged the contractors to come for their warning letter on the 29th of August 2022 at the SUBEB Headquarters, shendam road, Lafia.
