The newly elected Chairmen of the 13 Local Government Areas, LGAs in Nasarawa State have taken the oath of office.
The State Governor, Abdullahi Sule administered the oath of office at an event that took place at Aliyu Akwe Doma’s Banquet Hall Government House Lafia.
Governor Sule tasked them with selfless service, saying that his administration placed topmost priority on grassroots development, hence the need for them to live above board.
The Governor spoke extensively on ranging issues on LG election and administration as well as the quest of his government to provide the much-needed dividends of democracy.
The Speaker of the State Assembly, Balarabe Abdullahi led other members of the House to the occasion which had in attendance the Emir of Lafia Justice Sidi Bage, who led other traditional rulers.
Among the newly sworn-in Chairmen, Three are old ones who returned for the second term which are that of Lafia LG, Nonourable Aminu Muazu, Nasarawa Eggon LG Danlami Idris, and Nasarawa LG Honourable Muhammed Ottos.
The 10 new ones are: Emmanuel Lawi Joseph (Akwanga) Usman Umar (Awe), Ahmed Sarki Usman (Doma), John Bawa Thomas (Karu), Muhammed Baba Shehu (Keffi) others are Awalu Adamu (Kokona), Sanusi Abdul Giza (Keana), Ozeh Joshua Yekpowudu (Obi) Abdullahi Aliyu Tashas (Toto) and Asiru Bala Suleiman (Wamba)
Report has it that this was the first occasion the banquet hall in the government house could not accommodate the large numbers of people from various LG that gathered to witness the event.
