Nasarawa State Internal Revenue Board generates N8.8b in six months

The management of the Nasarawa State Internal Revenue Board has said that the board has generated N8.8billion revenue for the state government within January to June 2021.
The Chairman of the Board, Mr. Yakubu Ahmed revealed this when he led other members of the board for budget assessment before the state House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation led by its Chairman, Hon Aliyu Dogara.
The state revenue board boss noted that the board is targeting to generate N18.6billlion for the year 2021, promising to deliver on its mandate.
He stressed that the basic challenge of the board is understaffing.
Hon Aliyu Dogara, who commended the chairman and his management team for being up and doing, enjoined them to redouble effort and ensure that the state is better for it in terms of revenue generation.
He assured them of the assembly’s support in addressing their challenges at all times considering the significance of the board to the state.
The House Committee on Finance and Appropriation also played host to the management of the state Pension Board led by Alkasim Abdulhamid, who stood in for the Director-General of the Bureau where he informed the committee that the pension board is up to date in paying state pensioners and 65 percent in payment of gratuity.
