The governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party ( NNPP) in Nasarawa state, Mr. Yakubu Maidoya, says he would grant full autonomy to the local government in the state, if elected governor come 2023.
Maidoya made the promise during a media dialogue at the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre in Lafia, the state capital.
“Granting full autonomy to local government will enable local government chairmen function effectively for development to thrive at the Grassroots.
“I will ensure that local governments have full autonomy so that they can execute projects that will have direct bearing on the lives of the people at the grassroots.
“Building of garage is the responsibility of local government, and other projects at the local government level are the sole responsibility of the chairmen of local government.
“That is what I am going to do, if elected as governor of the state come 2023,” said Maidoya.
The NNPP’s governorship candidate also vowed to create job opportunities for the unemployed youths and other people of the state and offer free education from primary to secondary school.
“We are also going to give free qualitative education to our children to enable them become better future leaders.
“We have large numbers of unemployed youths and other people. My administration will create job opportunities to our unemployed people,” he added.
Maidoya solicited for support from all and sundry to enable him come out victorious in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
