With less than 72 hours to the commencement of the 2021/22 Nigeria Professional Football League Season, Nasarawa Ud FC is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that they begin the new campaign on a promising note.

Club Chairman, Mr. Isaac Danladi told Nasarawa United journalist that the team is in high spirits to set a positive mark when they open their account for the new league season away to Heartland FC at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, Imo State, during the weekend.

According to Danladi, “We are glad that the new league season is commencing this weekend.

“We narrowly missed out of the continent and league trophy last season.

“We have been able to address most of the challenges of last season and our focus is now turned to the new season, with the hope to win, at least, a trophy for our financier and supporters.

“Our supporters and fans had to to endure a devasting last day of the last season, and knowing what means, we have to do everything within our powers to bring respite to them and renew their hopes and strength.

“It’s not going to be an easy season, though, but we are equally not taking it with any levity.

“We will fight from the first day of the league till the end”, he noted.

Danladi who also heads the NPFL Club Owners Association disclosed that the Club will play their home matches at the Lafia City Stadium contrary to news making the round that it would play at alternative venue following the League Management Company’s disappear oval of the playing turf.

Well, people have the right to say whatever they want to say, but I can assure you that all things being equal, Nasarawa United will play their home matches this season at the Lafia City Stadium.

“Plans are already concluded to commence works on the field, and hopefully, it will be ready in due course”, he added

Nasarawa United finished last season on 5th position, with only six points separating them from league winners, Akwa United who had 71 points, and lost via penalty shootout to Bayelsa United in the final of the 2021 Aiteo Federation Cup in Benin City Edo State, after regulation time ended 2-2 apiece.
