Nasarawa Women Urged to Work Together for National Development

Women in Nasarawa State have been charged to work in harmony with one another towards building a peaceful society.

 

Commissioner for Special Duties on Humanitarian, Social Services and Non-Governmental Organisations NGO’s Princess Margaret Elayo gave the charge while playing host to the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, in Lafia, the state capital.

 

Princess  Elayo who underscored the contribution of women to nation building, stated that women have a critical role to play towards a better society.

She called on NAWOJ to support the course of women devoid of religious, ethnic, and political affiliation.

 

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of NAWOJ, Nasarawa State Chapter, Comrade Hadiza Umar informed the commissioner that the visit was to brief her on the activities of the association and to seek partnership in areas of common interest.

 

Comrade Hadiza assured of the association’s commitment to providing a platform for women and children to voice their concerns.
