The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has been conferred with the ‘Distinguished Associate Humanitarian Fellow’ award by the Institute for Humanitarian Studies and Social Development (IHSSD).

This recognition honours General Ahmed’s outstanding contributions to nation-building through his numerous humanitarian efforts.

At the induction and decoration ceremony held at NYSC National Directorate Headquarters in Abuja, Ambassador Adamu Babangida Ibrahim, President and Chairman of IHSSD’s Governing Council, praised General Ahmed for inspiring younger generations with his leadership and humanitarian work.

“As the head of Nigeria’s foremost youth organization, General Ahmed’s commitment to nation-building and humanitarian service has made a significant impact.”

Ambassador Ibrahim commended the awardee for leading the way for younger generations to emulate in his capacity as the Director General of Nigeria’s foremost youth organization.

He also revealed the Institute’s desire to go into a long-term partnership with NYSC in promoting humanitarian activities across the country, with Corps Members as foot soldiers.

In his acceptance remarks, Brigadier General YD Ahmed appreciated the institute for recognizing his efforts in leading Corps members to continue putting smiles on the faces of the less privileged Nigerians.

He gave the assurance that the award given to him will spur him to put more effort in rendering humanitarian services.

NYSC is a leading organization in ameliorating the living conditions of citizens through its numerous intervention programmes.

The Scheme under General Ahmed’s stewardship has in recent times received commendations from home and abroad, owing to its contributions in the health sector through the Health Initiative For Rural Dwellers (HIRD) and other countless Community Development Service projects.
