The National Assembly has unsealed the office of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, located in Suite 2.05 of the Senate Wing of the Complex.

This may potentially paves the way for the Kogi Central Senator to return to the Red Chamber when plenary resumes on October 7, 2025.

The office was unsealed on Tuesday, September 23, by the Deputy Director of the Sergeant-at-Arms, Alabi Adedeji.

The lawmaker was, in March this year handed a six-month suspension by the Senate, which also barred her from participating in all activities of the 10th Senate over alleged misconduct during Plenary on February 20.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s suspension although, ended in early September 2025, was unable to resume duties due to ongoing legal disputes and opposition from the Senate leadership.

She had written to the upper chamber to notify it of her intention to resume duties after the expiration of her suspension, but the National Assembly rejected her request.

The Nigerian Senate had on Thursday, March 6, 2025 suspended Senator, Akpoti-Uduaghan for six months over alleged misconduct and refusal to comply with the chamber’s sitting arrangement during the plenary session on 20 February.

Her suspension, which was announced by the Senate President Senator Akpabio during the Plenary was supported by a majority of the lawmakers present.

The controversy began when Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan refused to occupy her new seat, saying “it was done without her consent and therefore violated her privileges.”
