Vice President Kashim Shettima is leading a meeting of the National Economic Council.
The meeting commenced at 11:02 GMT and is taking place in the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Those in attendance include Governors, Deputy Governors the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security and the Minister of State for the Federal Capital.
Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo who was sworn-in 10 days ago, is attending the meeting for the first time.
He got a pleasant surprise as the Chairman of the Council directed him to say the opening prayer.
The National Economic Council is a statutory body that meets every month, under the Chairmanship of the Vice President.
It is expected that today’s meeting will review the performance of the economy as well as consider measures that need to be taken towards boosting the economy.
