The National Economic Council, NEC has commenced a 3-day human capacity Development training for its officers in recognition of their role in effective tracking and evaluation of project implementation following resolutions bordering on federal government-funded projects.
Declaring the event open, the Permanent Secretariat, Budget and National Planning who is also the Secretary to Council, Mrs Olusola Idowu, said that the training was expected to enhance the NEC secretariat staff skill in service delivery.
According to a statement signed by Imaobong Udoh for the Director of Information, Budget and National Planning, Mrs Idowu noted that the workshop was apt considering the role the secretariat played in advising the National Economic Council as a whole including the 36 States Governors of the Federation and FCT.
The workshop themed; “Tracking And Evaluation Of Resolutions And Budget Implementation,” featured an array of knowledge enhancing topics such as; “Project Planning And Implementation, Monitoring And Evaluation, Budget Monitoring And Evaluation, Developing Monitoring Indicators.”
Other presentations were on; Work plan and its use in monitoring, project Report and Progress review and methods of data collection for monitoring and Evaluation, amongst others.
The Workshop was anchored by the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) and supported by the Department of Special Duties, Budget and National Planning.
