National Orientation Agency Collaborates with Religious Leader on Subsidy Removal

The National Orientation Agency NOA in Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria has extended its campaign to the Methodist Church Cathedral in the State on the benefits of subsidy removal.

 

NOA paid an advocacy visit to the Bishop of the Methodist, Very Reverend Lawson Elom at the Cathedral in Abakaliki the State Capital.

The NOA State Director, Mr Mathew Odonor urged the Bishop to join in informing the members of the public and the parishioners on the benefits of the petroleum subsidy removal.

Odonor said “Subsidy removal reduces the growing and unsustainable budget deficit and consequently, the debt burden thereby creating a more robust economic and sustainable future”

 

“Subsidy removal will free up public funds for more meaningful infrastructure and developmental programmes that stimulate industrialisation, create jobs, economic growth and social prosperity. Massive creation of jobs for Nigerians”, he added.

 

Odonor urged all Nigerians to support the policy as all are in place to cushion the effects of the removal.

Also during the visit, the Deputy Director of the garage of programmes, Mr Anthony Uguru and the Deputy Director in charge of Planning, Research and Statistics, Mr Theophilus Nwokpor further urged the Bishop to carry the campaign to his various parishes across the State.

 

National Youth Volunteer Service Program

 

The Deputy Director Program, Mr Anthony Uguru said the National Youth Volunteer Service Programme is designed to promote the spirit and culture of Volunteerism and Community among Nigerian Youth between the ages of 18 to 40 years

 

National Youth Volunteer Service Programme NYVDP provides a platform for youths to develop a sense of citizenship, patriotism, lifelong learning, and critical social skills that support their personal development and growth.

 

“The NYVP is designed to coordinate volunteer activities in the country and seeks to develop active citizens, foster national cohesion, and create opportunities for skills development among young people”

 

Volunteerism is about sharing resources and working for the common good. It’s about helping others and improving the world.

 

Volunteers play an important role in community building and uplifting the well-being of Nigerians and all who live here.

 

“Volunteerism is a game changer. The youth are development assets. The Nigerian Youth Volunteers development program is poised to harness the demographic resources of the youths to build a nation encompassed with love” he said.
