The National Security Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu has assured Nigerians and investors that national security is improving.

He told delegates at the 19th Annual National Editors Conference (ANEC) in Uyo Akwa Ibom state on Thursday that based on the measures taken by the government nobody can offer Nigerians better solutions than what President Tinubu’s government is adopting.

The security adviser reminded Nigerians where the nation was six months ago and stressed that Nigeria now has direction on the ways to end insecurity.

Mallam Rubadu added that four security challenges of Boko Haram, Niger Delta, Banditry, and kidnappings and the IPOB/ESN were enough to ground Nigeria.

The NSA said kidnapping cases had reduced significantly as commuters can now travel between Kaduna and Abuja roads at night without fears of being kidnapped unlike in 2022 where railway was attacked and commuters were kidnapped.

Kidnappings in Nigeria are reducing unlike in countries like UK with over 200, Mexico 8,000 and Brazil with over 8,000 cases of kidnappings in a month.”

He assured Nigerians that security apparatus are working round the clock to free all kidnapped persons in Nigeria

Mallam Ribadu said there are a lot of security officials doing well to protect and defend the nation without being rewarded and called on Nigerians to encourage them to continue defending Nigeria.

Economy

On the Nigerian economy, the security adviser to the President said the interventions by the government were necessary to prevent the currency from ending like Zimbabwe’s currency without purchasing power.

Mallam Ribadu said The interventions are bitter pills to swallow for Nigeria to be out of the economic crisis.

The NSA said Nigeria will soon meet the OPEC quarter allocation of crude oil of 1.8 million barrels per day with the recent improvement to 1.7 mbpd and planned to achieve 2 million bpd in 2024 as a result of the reduction in oil bunkering in the Niger Delta areas.

Mallam Ribadu called on the media to appreciate that the fight against criminals requires secrecy to succeed and assured Nigerians that the restoration of order and security is half way to end insecurity in Nigeria.

The NSA called for support as all Nigerians are in it together for peace and security required for foreign direct investments and the accelerated development of Nigeria.
