The wife of Anambra State Governor, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, has commended the state’s athletes for their remarkable performance at the recently concluded 8th National Youth Games held in Asaba, Delta State.
In a statement issued in Awka, Mrs. Soludo celebrated the team’s achievement of securing eighth place overall, with a total haul of 26 medals: nine gold, nine silver, and eight bronze. She emphasized the importance of recognizing the dedication and hard work exhibited by the athletes in representing Anambra with pride.
“Every reason exists to honor this team for their commitment and excellence in each sport. Their ability to navigate a challenging tournament and emerge with such commendable results speaks volumes about their talent and determination,” Mrs. Soludo remarked.
While acknowledging the impressive performance, she also pointed out that there is significant room for improvement. The Governor’s wife expressed confidence that valuable lessons learned from this outing will pave the way for better preparations for future competitions.
In her message, Mrs. Soludo reiterated her commitment to meeting with the athletes soon, highlighting Anambra’s wealth of talent that is poised for international recognition.
