Twenty officers have graduated from the Naval War College Command Level Course Seven with a charge to integrate the experience and leadership skills gained in their different fields.
The Commandant of the Naval War College Nigeria, Rear Admiral Abdullahi Ahmed, gave the charge at the graduation ceremony in honour of the twenty Nigerian Navy officers within the rank of Commanders and Lieutenant Commanders held at the Eastern Naval Command headquarters in Cross River State, southern Nigeria.
Rear Admiral Ahmed noted that the graduation ceremony signaled the successful completion of the three-week intensive training course, which is the 7th series, since the inception of the college in 2017.
He urged the graduates, “the college has laid a solid professional foundation for you to perform more effectively in the field. You are now better equipped to cope with more of the challenges you are bound to face as you progress in your careers.
“As you go back to the field, you will be required to integrate practical experience with the command and leadership skills that you have been taught here. It is now up to you to build on the knowledge gained, through your further self-development efforts, perseverance, tact and intuition in order to further reposition yourselves for the tasks ahead.”
According to him, the leadership skills training offered by the college would enable the participants contribute in tackling current challenges within the country.
He noted, “the Naval War College Nigeria is a critical enabler of operational effectiveness. This is more so at this critical time in our nation’s history, when the military is intensifying its efforts in providing aid to civil power and authority in the fight against diverse threats affecting the country.”
