The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has formally requested the Attorney General of the Federation and the Inspector General of Police to initiate a thorough investigation into an incident involving renowned Nigerian musician King Wasiu Omogbolahan Olasunkanmi Adewale Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, and domestic airline ValueJet.
The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, during a scheduled commercial flight and has raised concerns about passenger conduct and aviation safety compliance.

According to preliminary findings, K1 De Ultimate was allegedly involved in actions aboard ValueJet flight VK201 that may constitute violations of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig. CARs). While specific details of the incident are still being reviewed, the NCAA has underscored the seriousness of the matter, emphasising that adherence to aviation rules is essential for ensuring passenger and crew safety.
In a formal petition submitted to the country’s top legal and law enforcement authorities, the NCAA called for a comprehensive criminal investigation and, where applicable, the prosecution of the involved party under the Nig. CARs 2023 and other relevant laws.
As part of immediate precautionary measures, the Director General of Civil Aviation, Capt. Chris Najomo has issued an advisory to the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON), urging the consideration of placing K1 De Ultimate on a temporary no-fly list for all commercial flights, pending the conclusion of investigations.
The NCAA reaffirmed its commitment to upholding safety, order, and compliance across Nigeria’s airspace, stating that all passengers, regardless of status, must adhere strictly to aviation regulations.
