NCPWD: Commission to sensitize persons with disabilities on Covid-19 vaccine

The National Commission for Persons with Disabilities(NCPWD), in collaboration with Arewa persons with disabilities forum have mobilized disabled people to sensitize them on the importance of covid-19 vaccine.

The president of the commission, David James Lalong, said that the commission find it necessary to mobilize the disabled persons so as to sensitize them on the impact and importance of the vaccination.

He  said the commission is also out  to empower thousands of disabled people nationally, especially those from rural areas  mostly affected during the outbreak of the pendamic.

According to him, “people with disability have been affected greatly during Covid-19 outbreak, most lost their businesses due to lockdown because many were not able to go out for their daily activities.

The chairman of the Arewa consultative Forum, Audu ogbeh  said that the forum which has been in existence since 2008 was created with the  aim to pursue inclusion and integration of persons with disabilities In political, social and economy activity of the Nation.

Speaking also,  the zonal leader of the disabled from the North-west, yobe state, Mohammed Abba Isa, has called on people living with disability to come out and take the of covid-19 vaccine so as to avert the second phase of the outbreak.
