The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has announced an upcoming Range Classification Exercise, scheduled to take place from June 9 to June 11, 2025, at the NDA Open Range.

According to Major Mohammed Maidawa, spokesperson for the NDA, the exercise is a crucial training activity designed to expose cadets to live firing scenarios.

The Range Classification Exercise will involve cadets from Direct Short Service Course 33 and Branch Commission 2/2025 Nigerian Air Force.

The exercise aims to enhance the firing skills and operational readiness of the cadets.

In light of the exercise, the NDA advises the public, particularly farmers, herders, and residents of surrounding and adjoining settlements, to keep away from the Open Range Area during the specified dates.

“We kindly request that all locals refrain from entering the Open Range Area during the exercise period to ensure their safety and to allow the cadets to conduct their training without interruptions. We value the support of the local community in our training endeavors.”

NDA emphasizes the importance of ensuring public safety and allowing the cadets to conduct their training without interruptions.

The NDA reminds the community that trespassing into the Open Range Area during the exercise period is strictly prohibited.

“The Academy prioritizes the safety of both the cadets and the local populace and appreciates the cooperation of everyone in adhering to this important notice.”
