The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) will conduct its final Outdoor Field Training Exercise for Army cadets, codenamed Exercise CAMP HIGHLAND, across Plateau and Kaduna States from July 28 to August 17, 2025.
The Academy’s Public Relations Officer, Major Mohammed Maidawa, said the training is designed to test the cadets’ leadership, physical fitness, command and control, and other military competencies.

“The exercise will include various phases, such as Adventure and Leadership Training at the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre, Shere Hills, Jos, from August 1 to 5, 2025,” he stated.
A Map Reading Exercise will take place on July 31, 2025, at the Nigerian Army Military Training Area, followed by the Tactical Phase on August 6. Camp Fire Night and Battle Inoculation Drills will hold from August 14 to 15, while the Live Firing Exercise is scheduled for August 15 at the Nigerian Army Base Camp in Kachia, Kaduna State.
The NDA has urged residents of the mapped areas not to panic but to report any breach of security to the nearest authorities. It also assured that all necessary safety arrangements have been put in place.

The Commandant of the NDA, Major General Abdul Khalifah Ibrahim, called for public understanding and local support during the period.
“This exercise is crucial in training future military leaders for the Armed Forces of Nigeria,” he said.
